About the job: Our Story: Founded in 2016 by Allan Baudoin and Bo van Langeveld, Baudoin & Lange designs, manufactures and sells high-end shoes for men and women. Allan Baudoin, a computer scientist and Apple alumni turned self-trained bespoke shoe maker, designed and handcrafted the first Sagan in 2014 as his own atelier shoes - hundreds of prototypes and two years of development later, the Sagan was born - instantly conquering the connoisseurs regulars of "the Row" with their supreme comfort, fit for a modern lifestyle. When he and Bo van Langeveld, an ex-racing driver turned financier who was tired of suffering in his obligatory formal office shoes, met - they together developed the idea of a modern shoe brand that would combine the best of both worlds : comfort and style. Our first staple product, the Sagan, is a supremely comfortable and versatile category defining loafer, featured in major publications and sold in over a hundred countries. The Opportunity: We are experiencing rapid online and offline growth, particularly in the US and Asian markets, where our stockists and partners range from high-end tailoring shops to the most renowned luxury department stores. We are looking for a Head of Marketing to supercharge our growth, establish the marketing function at Baudoin & Lange, and lead the growth of the marketing team as we scale. To date, Baudoin & Lange benefited from compelling triple-digit organic growth; our customers are incredibly engaged with our brand and are our advocates, word-of-mouth has contributed significantly to discovery and we are one of the youngest companies to have firm partnerships with global luxury department stores (Harrods, Selfridges, Barney’s, Beams Japan etc) have been very successful. Our social media engagement rates are high, and bloggers and influencers love our shoes! This is an extraordinary opportunity to protect, enhance and strengthen our marketing activity across all existing touchpoints, and to take true ownership of our new digital marketing department. About You: As the Head of Marketing, you will be setting up the Marketing department and carrying the full responsibility for it performance and scaling, with a key focus on our two primary markets: USA & Asia. A successful candidate will plan, execute, implement, and own paid and unpaid marketing strategies based on commercial targets, and; • Have strong proven in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in creating compelling campaigns and optimising results • Have experience in an e-commerce environment in a D2C digital marketing role • Be a creative, entrepreneurial thinker with very well-developed numerical and analytical skills • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of how and why audiences engage with a brand across different environments • Does not base growth strategy on value pricing, discounting or sales • Demonstrate a proven track record for tangible, strong growth numbers (revenues & traction) • Have excellent planning & project management skills • Demonstrate a curious mind with an eagerness to learn and keep abreast of the latest digital marketing trends and tools • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude, flexibility, creativity and very hands-on • Have experience of working cross-functionally in a collaborative environment • Perform well under pressure, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership • Have excellent communication skills and established experience in presenting to senior leadership; • Be up to date on all the latest digital marketing trends.
